According to legend once upon a time in China,there was a strange disease in Xin Yang, which could not be cured by any medicine at that time. A caring young girl had been looking for the antidote. An old man told her if she could cross 99 mountains to find a really special tree back to her home with the leaves in 10 days,she could save villagers .
Thus the brave girl from the village took up her crusade to save the villagers, crossed the 99 mountains and found the vine. When she discovered it, she didn't have strength to walk the long distance back to her home. The special tree guardian took pity on the girl and turned her into a bird that carried home to her village the tea leaves and seeds of that particular tree. The villagers were all healed by the leaves and local villagers began to grow this tree, which became a large tree garden.
In fact, Xinyang Maojin is also known in China for its special and delicious taste. It is known as "King Of Green Tea" and one of China's top ten popular teas. In 1915, he won the gold medal with Kweichow Moutai at the Panama International Exhibition. In 1990, the company Xinyang Maojin also took part in the national evaluation and won first place in the detailed price of green tea.
Xinyang Maojin ranks third in the valuation of public brands in China's tea area for several years. Xinyang Maojin placed second in the brand value list with 5,991 billion yuan in 2017, when measuring China's national tea brand value.
