A brother and a sister once lived in the outskirts of a small village near Fuzhou, Fujian Province. A parents died when they were young and the poor kids worked very hard just to get enough food to survive by.Brother was very severely ill in the winter and no doctors could help. Then, an old woman told her sister about a magic dragon that was always helping the poor. The girl wanted to find a dragon, and left her brother under the care of the old lady, searching for him at home.
She walked for a long time and then came to his cave surrounded by beautiful jasmine bushes. She told the dragon about her sick sibling and he vowed to support her, saying the recovery wouldn't be easy for her brother.The dragon soared into the sky and made an eerie cry, and a stunning pearl shone on his forehead, gleaming in the light. A small drop dropped from the pearl onto the ground, where a beautiful tea bush sprouted and immediately began to grow.
The dragon told the girl that whatever the weather could bring she should take very good care of the bush and he promptly disappeared.
It rained hard the whole day, but all the time the girl looked after the bush, not even for a moment leaving her side.Tiny long leaves eventually turned up on the forest. The girl picked the most delicate leaves from the top of each branch, dried them alongside jasmine flowers and produced delicate beads, copying the one hanging around the dragon's neck.She eventually returned home, brewing some tea from the magic leaves and filled their house with the wonderful fragrance of jasmine. Her brother, having drank the miracle tea, was quick to recover.
