He is a  tea seller from Kanpur. Through the money he earns running a small tea stall he takes care of 40 children's schooling. The 29-year-old has been hailed as a 'hero' after finding a mention on the Twitter account of former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman.

He was raised in a family of six siblings-five brothers and one sister. His father was the family's only earning person. Through his interest in education, his father was able to help him complete his schooling up to 10th grade. Mr Malik opened a small tea-stall to support his family after 10th class.

Malik saw a lot of kids in the bastis begging and walking away their time. Most of them were children of single mothers who scraped their lives only by menial jobs like serving as home-helpers. They found it hard to put a square meal on the table and how can they save money to send their children to school?

In his own words:

I have seen myself in those guys. I said to myself, 'If I had been given the chance to study further, I would become someone bigger and contribute to the country than selling tea at a roadside stand. And I agreed that I would do whatever I could to make those children's opportunities open.
He decided to open a coaching center near Sharda Nagar, Gurudev Talkies and Kanshiram Colony in Chakeri, where he taught over 350 children free of charge. He also hired teachers at a salary of Rs 2,000 each to teach children for two hours a day.
Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day.”– Sally Koch
But he thought that just 2 hours of teaching a day could not bring improvements in students' actions and morale. So, he was thinking of opening a primary school. It was a discussion that ignited the idea of starting the initiative under an NGO with his friend, Nilesh Kumar. And so in 2017 the Maa Tujhe Salaam Foundation was established. The organization founded by Malik now operates a primary school with five core team members and other volunteers, where it offers free and quality education to 40 children.

Without charging a rupee, the students are provided with all they need including uniforms, shoes, socks, bags and other stationery! All the funds needed to operate the school, including rented house, from the savings and earnings of Malik. He is India's real Hero. India needs people like Malik bhai to become developed country.
