The Happy Valley Tea Estate is nestled among Darjeeling's foggy slopes, with views of the rich Himalayan foothills.Happy Valley Tea Estate is a tea garden in the Darjeeling District of West Bengal, India. It is Darjeeling's second oldest tea estate, having been established in 1854. It covers 177 hectares (440 acres) and employs more than 1500 people. It is located at a height of 2,100 metres (6,900 feet) above sea level, 3 kilometres (1.9 miles) north of Darjeeling.

The bushes in the garden are incredibly old - at least 80 years old, and some are over 150. Replanting has been done sparingly in recent years. This tea plantation is the nearest tea estate to Darjeeling town, and tourists frequently visit the garden, which is located 3 km north of town, below Hill Cart Road, and accessible through Lochnager Road from Chowk Bazaar.

Wilson Tea Estate was founded in 1852 and named after an Englishman called David Wilson. The land was taken over by an Indian aristocracy from Hoogly, Tarapada Banerjee, in 1903. Banerjee purchased the Windsor Tea Estate nearby in 1929 and consolidated the two plantations to form Happy Valley Tea Estate.

The four routes that one can opt from Siliguri to reach Darjeeling are: i) Tindharia – Kurseong route ii) Dudhiya – Mirik route iii) Rohini route iv) PankhabariThe main road connection to Darjeeling is via Siliguri (by NH 55), which is connected to all of India's major towns. Siliguri's Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand provides bus service. Seat-sharing/hire of smaller vehicles is also available at the airport, railway station, motor syndicates, and police motor stand. Pre-paid taxi stands are also available from NJP Railway Station and Bagdogra Airport.
